| Read This Before Downloading Ring Tones |

Cell phones have become very affordable, and as a result, many people
carry them with them no matter where they go. People like to
personalize many items they own, and cell phones are no exception.
There are colored faceplates you can put on your phone, as well as sparkly items commonly referred to as cell phone bling. Along with these, perhaps the most popular method of personalization is ring tones. While some phones come with some special rings and a few songs, many people choose to get that special ring by downloading ring tones. These can be found all over the Internet. There is a problem with getting your ring tones on the Internet, however. In some cases, if you pick the wrong site, you are not only downloading ring tones, you are downloading spyware. Many of the free downloads come with spyware. There is a reason it is free, after all. You are safer if you find a site that will charge you for downloading ringtones. At least in this case you know you have a legal copy of a song, if that is what you are using, and your ring tone should come to you free of spyware. You may also find a wider variety of songs, and if you are looking for something obscure, you may be more likely to find it on a pay site. Before you begin downloading ringtones, remember you can make them for yourself. All you need is a good music editing software. You can cut out a clip from a song you have on your computer and upload it to your phone. If this sounds too complicated for you, you can buy software made especially for making and downloading ring tones. I just saw this software in Best Buy, and if I remember correctly, it was priced under twenty dollars. If you are afraid of spyware, but don’t have software to make your own, you can try downloading ring tones from a friend. If they have any on their computer you like, they can easily email them to you so you can put them on your own phone directly from your computer. This will save you the hassle of worrying about spyware, but you should make sure the file is scanned before you attempt to save it to your computer. Your friend may not have meant to send you a virus, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t. |
